Warm or inconsistent air
Low charge is one possibility, but compressor operation, controls, and heat transfer also affect cooling. The system needs assessment.
Honda & Acura • Hollywood, Maryland
Warm air does not always mean the system just needs refrigerant. Garrett’s Garage reviews cooling, airflow, and electrical concerns to plan the appropriate R-134a A/C service.
Serving Hollywood and Southern Maryland. Every appointment is confirmed after review.
What the job involves
Air conditioning moves heat out of the cabin through a refrigerant circuit. The compressor, condenser, evaporator, fans, controls, and cabin airflow all play a part. A problem in one area can make the whole system seem ineffective.
Our advertised refrigerant service is for R-134a systems. Diagnosis may reveal a leak, a component problem, an electrical fault, or an airflow restriction. Recharging alone does not repair a leak or correct a control problem. We confirm the refrigerant type and the work needed before proceeding.
Start with the symptoms
Tell us whether the air is warm all the time, cooling fades after a while, or performance changes when the vehicle is stopped. These details help guide the checks.
Low charge is one possibility, but compressor operation, controls, and heat transfer also affect cooling. The system needs assessment.
A restricted cabin filter, blower issue, or air-distribution fault may reduce airflow even when the refrigerant circuit is working.
Fan operation, airflow across the condenser, and system control may influence cooling while stopped. Pressure readings need operating conditions for context.
Refrigerant loss or an unresolved fault may need further investigation. Repeated top-ups do not establish where a leak is occurring.
Please confirm the refrigerant type before booking. Send the vehicle year, model, and under-hood A/C label if available. Our listed refrigerant service is R-134a; R-1234yf and other systems require separate availability confirmation.
Vehicle-specific attention
The A/C label and exact vehicle configuration are more useful than assuming a refrigerant type from the model name or age.
System background: DENSO’s explanation of A/C diagnosis and servicing. Refrigerant, oil, and procedures must match the vehicle.
What to expect
A/C work is planned around the symptoms and supported system type, with component repairs discussed separately from routine refrigerant service.
Confirm the refrigerant label and concern. Review airflow, cooling behavior, and relevant system controls under suitable conditions.
Check for leakage and component or electrical faults as needed. Pressure, temperature, and operating data are interpreted together.
Repair the agreed faults and follow the applicable refrigerant-handling procedure. Our recharge service requires the system to pass its vacuum test; further leak testing may still be needed.
Recheck cooling performance, airflow, and any original concern. Explain findings that could affect the repair plan or require additional work.
Factory repair procedures and specifications vary by vehicle. Garrett's Garage uses the applicable service information for the exact vehicle and configuration. See the American Honda Service Information System for Honda's factory-authorized service-information program.
Why Garrett's Garage
Garrett’s Honda and Acura experience supports an informed approach to A/C concerns. The shop’s published diagnostic and A/C work gives you concrete examples of the services performed.
We use OEM or OEM-equivalent parts and take the vehicle's exact configuration into account. You can share previous diagnostic information, ask questions about the proposed work, and discuss the findings before moving forward.
The completed work and customer feedback below let you see that experience in practice.

Before your appointment
You can request A/C service, but the system must be assessed first. If charge is low, the reason for that loss matters. A recharge is not a substitute for repairing a confirmed leak.
No. A system can behave differently under operating pressure and temperature, and small or intermittent leaks may require additional testing. Passing the vacuum test is a service check, not a lifetime leak guarantee.
Pickup and drop-off are each $150 within 30 miles of the shop, subject to availability and confirmation. Request the option when contacting us; it is not guaranteed. Let us know if your vehicle cannot be driven safely.
Include the year, make, model, engine if known, mileage, VIN, symptoms, and any diagnostic codes or prior inspection results. Appointment requests are reviewed before a date and time are confirmed.
